Osiris is installed and licensed on a per computer basis. Once the software is installed, it will prompt you for a login name (typically your company name) and a license key. The license key is a randomly generated string of 32 characters that authenticates the computer and grants it access to your data.

Here is an example license key: 4760657f-0aac-445c-a56d-ba422df80a3a

The license key is encrypted on your local hard drive. Without the exact login name and license key, your data is inaccessible.

Once the computer has been authenticated, all communications happen over SSL, the same security banks use to encrypt financial information traveling over the web.

Our data and related infrastructure is hosted in Enterprise – Grade, SAS 70 Type II Certified Data Centers by our hosting provider, TierPoint. Data is replicated across geographically redundant facilities in Dallas, TX and Lenexa, KS. The below document includes information outlining the Data Centers in detail.

Our backups are a hybrid approach, taking advantage of systems supplied by our provider, as well as by systems of our own design that allow backups to be taken twice daily. All backups are transferred securely, again taking advantage of the geographic redundancy afforded by our hosting provider.
